Entertainment: Stage and Roaming

Our entertainment line up is here. Whether you are hanging out at the stage or roaming around the festival there will be musicians sure to please any discerning ear.

On the Stage:

10:00 am – Lanark County Revival
Mix of pop, rock, blues and country music and some sweet three-part harmonies
11:00 am – Lanark & District Maple Syrup Producers Awards
Local syrup producers awarded for their ‘Lanark County Gold’ maple products
11:15am – Kate Weekes
Multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, vocalist and recording artist
12:00pm – Christian Flores Gypsy Jazz Trio
Featuring guitarist Christian Flores with gypsy jazz or “jazz manouche” sounds
1:00pm – Wood Cookie Challenge
The wood chips fly in the Team ‘Cross-Cut Saw’ and ‘Sap Race’ Competitions
1:45pm – The Broken Bridges
Graham Lindsey, Fern & Willow Marwood with Canadian Celtic, traditional & folk
2:15pm – Shawn McCullough
Westport’s favourite country singer, songwriter, recording artist
3:00pm – Eric & Friends
Old-time and modern country tunes with Eric and his talented band

‘Sap-Tapping’ & ‘Wood Cookie’
(Cross-Cut Saw) Competition

Details:
-Competition is open for up to 10 two-person teams (men or women – 21 years + older)
Participation is ‘at your own risk’, and each team member must sign and complete a
Registration Form and the 2-page Waiver Form
-Teams are asked to meet at side of Main Stage at 12:45pm – Saturday Apr. 30th
-Logs, brace & bit drill, hammer, spiles, cross-cut saws, saw-horse supplied by Festival
-Bring your own gloves, footwear – Lumberjack-type clothing or team-themes encouraged!

1.  Sap-Tapping – timed:
-Team members will work on a standing log, with one member steadying the log, the other drills a hole using brace & bit, hammers in a spile, runs and gets bucket to hang on spile.
2.  Wood Cookie (Cross Cut Saw Competition) – timed:
-Each two-person team gets a turn at cross-cut sawing an approx. 6 to 8-inch log
-There will be two rounds. The fastest total time (men and women’s) determine standings.

Christian Flores Trio
Christian Flores is a jazz guitarist. He performs in Ottawa and Gatineau with his band Django Libre and other local jazz musicians.

Shawn McCullough
Shawn McCullough is an indie singer/songwriter/guitarist and guitar teacher.

Christian Flores Gypsy Jazz Trio
Local guitarist Christian Flores and his Gypsy Jazz Fire promotes the style of Gypsy Jazz. Gypsy Jazz or “jazz manouche” was created in the 1930’s by the legendary two-fingered guitarist, Django Reinhard and blends American big band swing with the exotic sounds of European gypsy folk songs.

The Broken Bridges
The Broken Bridges is a traditional Ottawa-based Celtic trio composed of sisters Fern and Willow Marwood on violin and banjo, as well as Graham Lindsey on guitar. Their jigs and their mills will make you smile and kick your feet!                                                                                                                                                                              

Kate Weekes
Kate Weekes is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and vocalist based in the Gatineau Hills of Quebec.  Kate has released three albums of original material as well as collaborative projects.
